• Software is the set of instruction to perform a specific task in a computer.
• Software cannot be touched.
• Anything that can be stored electronically is Software.

Types of Software

There are two types of Software.

•  System Software
•  Application Software

System Software

• System Software is a type of computer program that is designed to run a computer's and applications program.
• The system software is the interface between the hardware and used applications.

Examples of System Software

There are many examples of system software.

•         Linux
•         Android
•         Microsoft Windows
•         Game engines
•         Search engines,etc

Application Software

• Appication software is software that performs specific tasks for an end users.
• An application can be self contained or group of programs.

Examples of Application Software 

There are many examples of Application Softwares.

•         Microsoft word
•         Excel 
•         Powerpoint
•         Web browsers such as firefox or Google chrome
•         In mobiles,apps are Application software
•         Photoshop
•        VLCnedia player
•        Microsoft Access,etc
